Dad's Jook with Miso MSG Mushrooms

Use: The OG
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice (washed)
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 pack beech mushrooms
  • ½ tbsp The OG MSG Seasoning
  • Option toppings: green onion, tofu, greens, chicken, or fish

Mushroom Sauce Ingredients:

  • ½ tbsp miso paste
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • ½ tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ tbsp The OG MSG Seasoning

Instructions:

  1. Bring rice to a boil, then lower to a simmer for 45 minutes (or until desired jook consistency)
  2. On medium heat, saute mushrooms until golden brown
  3. Pour in sauce and stir for about 2 minutes
  4. Serve jook and top with mushrooms and any additional toppings
